Mario Cristobal

 Mario Cristobal is an American football coach who is currently the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes football team. He was born on September 24, 1970, in Miami, Florida. Cristobal played college football as an offensive lineman at the University of Miami from 1988 to 1992, where he was a member of two national championship teams.

After his playing career ended, Cristobal began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami in 1998. He then spent several years as an assistant coach at various colleges, including Rutgers, FIU, and Alabama, before being named the head coach at FIU in 2007.

Cristobal coached at FIU for six seasons, leading the team to two bowl games and winning the Sun Belt Conference championship in 2010. He then spent several years as an assistant coach at Alabama and Oregon before being named the head coach at Oregon in 2017.

At Oregon, Cristobal led the team to a Pac-12 championship in 2019 and a berth in the Rose Bowl. He was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year in both 2018 and 2020. In 2021, he was named the head coach at the University of Miami, his alma mater.
